Farm House is a NOT for us house, darn it!

Well I had already started dreaming about the possiblilies of moving into a 106 year old farm house on 32 acres, could it be a bed and breakfast, could we have our childrens wedding receptions there, could we host movie night with family and friends, showing the movie on the side of the barn, would we host family Sunday dinners??? The answer to those questions was a big fat NO! That's right all my dreams were crushed today when we actually met the agent and got to tour the home. The house was in horrible shape, they had updated everything, and not in a good way, and had left NONE of the charm and personality that this old home surely had. They even had gotten rid of the front door, thats right, just sided and drywalled right over it!!! What were "they" thinking??
We will keep looking, we wont give up! I have a love affair with old barns and we will find a house with lots of charm and possibilities on a bunch of land, it just wasnt meant to be today!

Here are a couple barns that i thought were pretty, what do you think? Do they do anything for you? Or am I alone in my love affair, lol??

HAve a great week! Sue

WHO in this world would do away with a front door of all things????? Very strange indeed! I LOVE barns...old and new, but moreso the old ones with character, love the pics you have:)

Oh I just LOVE old barns. I use to dream that I would find one and convert it into a wonderful home, but that never happened. I sure had fun looking and dreaming though. I hope you find your neat old home and it has a wonderful barn. That would be a great blessing and so much fun. Hugs, Marty

I love everyone of your barn pictures. That are stunning. Both my grandparents lived in rural areas, and I have wonderful memories of playing in barns, hiding in the hay, and running through the tobacco stalks! I am so sorry that you weren't able to get that house. What a shame that the previous owners didn't treat it as it deserved to be treated!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower. Just wanted to let you know that you have been entered in all 5 of my Christmas in July giveaways. Stop by on Wednesdays in July for more chances to win!

Goodluck in your hunt for that special house!

Oh, that's too bad about the house. Sometimes it amazes me what people do in the name of updating. Then it's not a remodel, but a remuddle.

I'm crazy about old barns, old schoolhouses, old mills, and old churches... old stores, too. I think that last barn is just adorable!

Hope you find the place of your dreams...

XO,

Sheila :-)

VERY sad about the house...we keep tossing out moving into my husbands grandparents house & remodeling it (but without taking away from the charm of an old farmhouse).

Hope you find your dream!!

You'll find the one someday and it will call your name so loud and shake you to the very core of your soul as you stand there and answer "yes, I hear you" Have a great 4th sweetie!
